Kyle Merrick was born and raised in western Oklahoma. He and his wife Jennifer, and their two children, reside on his Grandfather's ranch near Sayre, OK. Kyle's long family history in the Quarter Horse business has helped him breed and raise some outstanding cattle. He and his father Joe, started out by suppling stock for open, junior, and high school rodeos. The kids rarely rode the rank ones, so they put together a load of PBR bulls to haul in 2000. They had a couple of those bulls selected to go to the PBR World Finals. One of those bulls was Western Hauler's Primetime, whom they used as a herdsire until his death in 2006. The Merricks have also raised many other great bulls such as Bulldog Disco of Chad Bergers, and Evils Eyes of Ty Rinaldos.
